Overview of Forest Home, ca. 1890, with labels provided in locations indicated by Walter W. Edwards, Cornell class of 1893. [Source: Cornell University Media Services Photo Section records, #21-37-2227, negative #4-19397. Division of Rare and Manuscript Collections, Cornell University Library. ]

Taken from what is now Pleasant Grove Road and looking SSE over Fall Creek to The Byway and up Judd Falls Road (at right). The houses in the right foreground are in The Byway, including 16 (labeled Birthplace of Walt Edwards), 20 (to its left) and 11 (above with 3 windows). Between 11 The Byway and its barn, the view shows Judd Falls Road. Above the label First House (which probably relates to the house to the right of the label) are three houses, 111, 109, and 107 Judd Falls Road. Under the label "Old School" is the one-room school built about 1847, used as a school until 1921 and later as a garage for 131 Judd Falls Road. In front of the old school is 137 Judd Falls Road. Largely obscured, 145 Forest Home Drive is visible just to the right of the chimney on the building labeled "Wood Shop" [Bool's Furniture Workshop.]
The houses listed still exist; the mills and workshops at the left were nearing the end of their life.
