Marriage of Janet E. Pond to Robert E. Goodman
The Ithaca Journal, Mar 27 1944, P. 4, Col. 3., with photo of Janet

"Miss Janet E. Pond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Pond of Milford, Conn., became the bride of Lieut. Robert B. Goodman, son of Prof. A. M. Goodman and Mrs. Goodman at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Red and white roses and other flowers formed a setting in the YMCA Chapel in Seattle, Wash., where Lieutenant Goodman's post chaplain performed the ceremony. Appropriate wedding selections were played.
Dressed in blue silk, the bride had navy blue accessories. She was attended by Mrs. Avery DeGolyer, and Ensign DeGolyer of the U. S. Naval Reserve was best man. The DeGolyers now reside in Seattle.
After the ceremony there was a small reception.
A graduate of the College of Home Economics at Cornell with the Class of 1943, the bride has been a dietitian in a hospital in New Rochelle. She is the grandniece of Mrs. Miles A. Pond of Forest Home and the late Professor Pond. Lieutenant Goodman, who was graduated from Corneil in 1941, is in training with the U.S. Army Air Force, stationed in Seattle. Before entering the service, he was employed by the GLF.
The couple will reside temporarily in Seattle and may be reached at Lieutenant Goodman's address: 0-868995, 13th Training Detachment, 6600 Ellis Ave., Seattle 8, Wash."
