Obituary for Robert Landon Wiggans

"KENDAL - Robert Landon Wiggans, 84, of Kendal, died February 1, 2003. He was born April 7, 1918 in Ithaca, NY, the son of the late Professor Roy and Edna Wiggans.
He graduated from Cornell in 1940. During WWII, he was the recipient of three Bronze Stars and one Silver Star for heroism in the infantry in the Italian Campaign. He was a dairy farmer in Aurora, NY.
He helped found the Aurora Rotary Club in 1946, the VFW of King Ferry and the Southern Cayuga Garden Club. He was inducted into the Cornell U. Athletic Hall of Fame for soccer, hockey and lacrosse, in 1986.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Talbert) of Kendal; his sons. George (Elizabeth) of Bowie, MD. and Richard (Lupita) of Coral Springs, FL; his daughters, Patricia (John) Gaines of Groton, Barbara (Richard) Taylor of Locke, and Elizabeth (Richard) Engelbrecht-Wiggans of Champaign, IL; and nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren."
