Obituary for Anson Wright Gibson, Jr.

"Anson Wright Gibson Jr., age 75, formerly of Ithaca, died Wednesday, October 11. 1995. at Shannondale Nursing Home after an illness of many years.
  He was a 1942 graduate of the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, attended the Harvard Business School, and served in the Pacific Theater in WWII, retiring from the U.S. Navy as a commander. Mr. Gibson started his career in hotel management at the Hotel Jerome. Aspen, CO. where he assisted in the 1947 opening of the resort. He was a managing editor of the Duncan Hines Travel Guides from 1956-1959 and served in management positions with the Sheraton Corporation of America, the Inn at Buck Hill Falls, PA, Hotel Alexander, Hagerstown, MD. and the Housing Division of Allen and O'Hara, Memphis from 1965-1974. He was a member of the Memphis Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Cornell Society of Hotelman.
  He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Taylor Gibson and survived by: Sons: A. Wright Gibson III, Houston, TX, Curtiss S. Gibson, Knoxville, Charles Bradley Gibson, Knoxville, brother: Phillip B. Gibson, Norwalk, CT sister: Sally G. Noel, Basye, VA, 6 grandchildren."
