Obituary for Dorotha E. Miller

"NEWFIELD - Dorotha E. Miller, 88, of 132 Horton Road, Newfield, died Wednesday, September 25, 1996 at her home after an extended illness.
  Born in Ithaca on June 9, 1908, she was a daughter of the late Luther and Winona Ostrander English.
  A life-long resident of the Ithaca-Newfield area, she was employed with Agway as an accountant both in Ithaca and Dewitt for 27 years before her retirement in 1973.
  Active in several organizations, she was a member of Aerie #1253 F.O.E. Ladies Auxiliary where she held several officers positions including President at a local and state level. In 1988, she served as New York State President for the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Dryden American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Dryden V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and Moose Lodge #666 Ladies Auxiliary.
  She enjoyed bowling and was involved with several area bowling leagues as well as with the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary bowling events.
  Dorotha is survived by her children Kenneth Luhrs of Ithaca, Richard Luhrs of Weimer TX, Lew Mengle of Newfield, Lee Billings of Newfield and Marilyn Ellis of Herndon VA; two sisters, Lillian Slights and Alice Barkdoll both of Ithaca. Eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, E. LeRoy Miller on January 14, 1981.
  Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 28, 10 AM at the Herson Funeral Home, 110 South Geneva Street with Reverend James Geuder officiating.
  Interment will follow in Hayts Cemetery."
