Obituary for Alice M. Barkdoll

 "ITHACA - Alice M. Barkdoll passed away peacefully at home Monday, May 8, 2006. Mrs. Barkdoll was born January 14, 1913 and raised in Snyder Hill and lived in the Ithaca area all her life.
  Mrs. Barkdoll was a 52-year member of the Ithaca Eagles #1253 where she held all the local and state offices in the auxiliary. She was also a 50-year member of the Moose and a member of the Dryden American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid member of the Ithaca Ladies Auxiliary Drill Team which won many awards for their performances. She was an avid bowler in her younger years and was instrumental in starting the bowling tournament for the Eagles Auxiliary. She was state auxiliary bowling chairman for many years.
  Survivors include her son, Carey A. (Alberta) Barkdoll Jr.; five grand-children, Carey A. (Tiffany) Barkdoll III, Melissa (John) Gibson, Mike (Debbie) Cooper, Matthew (Christine) Cooper, Lori (Brad) Ausbrook; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was particularly close to one niece, Nancy Pratt of Lockport.
  She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Carey A. Barkdoll Sr.; two sisters, Lillian Slights and Dorothea Miller; and a brother, Clifford English.
  ... Funeral Services will be held at the Herson Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2006, followed by burial in Willow Glen Cemetery in Dryden. A gathering will be at the Eagles Club following burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospicare."
