Obituary for Everett Brian Pendleton

"RUSHVILLE. NY - Everett Brian Pendelton[sic], 67. passed away Wednesday. December 24, 1997 at his home in Rushville, NY, after a long and courageous fight against cancer. He was only one day short of his birthday, Christmas, December 25, 1929.
Everett was born and grew up in and near Ithaca. He made many friends in the Forest Home and Ithaca communities. He attended Cornell. graduating from the College of Agriculture in 1953. While there he met his future wife, June Gibson, who survives.
He is also survived by their three children, David, Linda and Jeffrey; three brothers, Richard, John Philip and Robert; a sister, Virginia May: several nieces and nephews and several grandchildren.
Everett was active locally, was a member of Troop 8 Boy Scouts of Forest Home and was the last scoutmaster of Troop 8 before it disbanded for lack of boys of the right age. He served with the 2nd Armored Division in Mannheim and Bad Kreuznach, Germany. After his military service he and June moved to Rushville where they bought a farm and converted it from dairy to grape culture. The farm now has over 150 acres of vineyards and is being carried on by his wife and sons.
Everett was a big muscular man but a characteristic that he is remembered for was his gentleness, especially with children. We miss him.
A memorial service will be held at the Rushville Methodist Church at 2:00 o'clock Januагу 3, 1998. Memorial donation may be made to the Middlesex Valley Volunteer Ambulance Corps."
