“Mrs. Mathilda Albertina Washington, widow of Elijah Washington, died about 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon of complications following a two months’ illness. She has been a resident of this city for the past 30 years. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Household of Ruth, Independent Order of St. Luke, and was president of the Frances Harper Club.
The funeral will be held from the residence, 119 Cleveland avenue, at 2:30 o’clock Friday afternoon and 3 o’clock from the Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. W. D. White while officiate and interment will be made in Lake View Cemetery. Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Cornelia Williams of this city; also one nephew and several nieces.”
