“S. E. Banks and wife of Ithaca to William R. Williams and wife of the same place, property on Wheat street.”

“Real Estate Transfers,” Ithaca Journal, November 25, 1919, 5.

“Five hundred invitations have been sent friends of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Williams of 119 Cleveland Ave, who will observe their 50th wedding anniversary at their home on Tuesday, November 11.
The reason for the many invitations is that Mr. Williams is well-known to many of Cornell University’s older graduates, having served as chef for the past 20 years at Umphville, a popular bachelor’s Summer colony on the west shore of Cayuga Lake. Mr. Williams was also chef in the employ of the late Fordyce A. Cobb.
Mr. Williams is a native of Brockport and Mrs. Williams was born in Bradford, Pa., where they were married on November 11, 1880, by the late Rev. R. W. Jackson, pastor of the A. M. E. church of that city.
Mr. and Mrs. Williams came to Ithaca to make their home just 40 years ago, when Mr. Williams was employed as coachman to the late W. L. Bostwick. He is a 32nd degree colored Mason and a member of Ithaca Chapter, Independent Order of St. Lukes. Mr. Williams is 74 years old and his wife is 68.”

“W. R. Williams Will Celebrate Golden Wedding Nov. 11,” Ithaca Journal, October 30, 1930, 7.

“Mrs. Cornelia Winters Williams of Auburn, formerly of Ithaca died Saturday, Mar. 14, 1953 in Mercy Hospital, Auburn, at the age of 90.
