C. U. Appoints Philip Johnson to Education School Position

"The University has announced the appointment of Philip G Johnson as professor of rural education in its School of Education.
  Since 1946 Professor Johnson has been a science specialist in the United States Office of Education's secondary division.
  As a member of the faculty from 1935-46, Professor Johnson was director of science teacher training at the University and in the Ithaca public schools.
  He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1923, worked in the University's High School there, and received a master of arts degree in 1931.
  Coming here as a Charles Lathrop Pack Fellow, he received the Ph.D. in 1933 and then taught for two years in the Teachers College at Nebraska,
  He was a consultant to the pre-induction training branch of the War Department in 1943 and to the military government in Germany in 1947. From 1944-46 he was president of the National Science Teachers Association."
