Obituary for Arthur John Masterman

SANTA FE, N.M. - Arthur John Masterman, 93, formerly of the Ithaca area, died Friday, August 1, 1986, in Casa Real Health Care Center, Santa Fe, N.M., where he had resided for the past year.
"Mr. Masterman was born in Niagara Falls on April 28, 1893.
  He retired in 1958 from the Grand[sic] League Federation (GLF), now Agway, after 30 years of employment there.
  Mr. Masterman was a 1919 graduate of the New York State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University and worked in India for the Standard Oil Company of New York before joining the GLF.
  He was a Navy veteran of both world wars and had been active the American Legion and Reserve Officers Association. He also was a member of the Forest Home Chapel. For 20 years after his retirement, Mr. Masterman operated a Christmas tree farm near Enfield.
  Mr. Masterman, a widower since the death of his wife, Nancy, in September 1984, is survived by two sons, John S. Masterman of Kansas City, Mo., and David S. Masterman of Santa Fe., N.M.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Niagara Falls.  No funeral is planned."

Note: Masterman worked for the Grange League Federation (which merged into Agway in 1964)
