"Caroline Morton grants helps in establishing grant
  With an initial gift of $5,000 from Caroline Morton of Santa Barbara, the Eleanor Roosevelt Grant in Home Economics has been established at the New York State College of Human Ecology, Cornell University, at Ithaca, N.Y.
  The grant, established in cooperation with the college's $250,000 anniversary campaign, will provide income for an annual grant to a student in human ecology.
  Ms. Morton did graduate work at Cornell and retired in 1951 as assistant to the dean of the college of home economics, forerunner of human ecology.
  Eleanor Roosevelt, wife of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, was a lecturer, writer and longtime advocate of home economics education in New York. She supported legislation that elevated the school of home economics to the college of home economics in 1925."
