Obituary for Hanna[h] A. Bradfield, widow of Cornell Prof. Richard Bradfield

"Hanna A. Bradfield, 90, of Ithaca and Gainesville, Fla., died Saturday, March 15, 1986, at Memorial Hospital of Bedford County in Pennsylvania. She was born Nov. 21, 1895, in Charlestown, R.I., a daughter of the late Herbert L. and Sarah Browning Stillmann and was the widow of Richard Bradfield Sr., who died May 1981.
  She was a 1914 graduate of Westerly High School, a 1918 graduate of Rhode Island State College and had received her master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Missouri. She had taught home economics at Beaver College, Transylvania University, Hamilton College and the University of Missouri.
  Mrs. Bradfield was interested in genealogy and had done family histories of the Stillman, Browning, Bradfield and Truitt families. She and her late husband had lived in Ithaca from 1937 to the early 1960s when he was a professor at Cornell University.
  While in Ithaca, she was active in the League of Women's Voters, the PTA and the AAUW. She had served on the board of education in Cayuga Heights as a Republican committee woman and as a director of education for the Town of Ithaca in the early 1940s.
  She is survived by five sons, Robert [sic -- should be Richard] Bradfield Jr. of Breezewood, Pa., Robert B. Bradfield of Orinda, Calif., Stillman Bradfield of Kalamazoo, Mich., David M. Bradfield of Atlanta, Ga., and James W. Bradfield of San Francisco; a daughter, Patricia Baasel of Athens, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
  Memorial services will be in West Jefferson Cemetery in West Jefferson, Ohio, at the convenience of the family."
