"Mrs. Spencer died yesterday afternoon...at the City Hospital.... She was born in Richmond, Va., in 1863 and resided there for a number of years. She married Frank A. Spencer in 1887 and came to this city with her husband in 1892. Besides her husband and three children, she is survived by three brothers, Tobert, John, and Sherman Smith."
