This building first appeared in the 1929 city directory with 402-Reynolds Motors Inc., 404-Odell Motor Co., 406-Ithaca Oil Co.
In 1939, the new Ithaca Bowling Center Inc., opened at 404-406 E State St.
"Steps toward installation of the new alleys have already started. The J. Dall Jr. Construction Company is engaged in renovating the building recently occupied by the Studebaker Agency. The alleys are expected to be open some time in February."

Ithaca Textiles started as Abbott Textiles in 1947, and made ladies nylon and acetate underwear. In 1954 it moved from 438 W State, where it had been since 1947.
In 1970, Ithaca Textiles moved to North Carolina.
