"The First National Bank has purchased the Williams property at 332-336 E State St. next to the Eagles Building....
It is anticipated that the parking lot will be in partial operation by Fall and in full use when the existing structures are removed. The Forest City Sunoco Gas Service Station and Jones Radio Sales at present occupy the area.
The property was owned by the J. Walter Williams Estate."

"The Wash'n Shop, formerly located at 336 E. State St., reopened this week in new quarters at 204 E Seneca Street. The business occupies a newly-completed 70 by 30 foot structure next to 'The Pillars.' Mrs. Florence D. Shults continues as manager.
With an off-street parking area in front of the building, the shop offers drive-in laundry and dry cleaning service. According to Leonard Van Lent, owner of Ithaca Laundries which operates the business, it also is the only establishment of its type in Ithaca with self-service arrangements.
Four new washing machines have increased the total number in use at the shop to 16 in addition to four small dryers and one large one.
Removal of the plant from the former location was necessitated by the 'tuning fork' project."
