Built by Jacob McCormick, Ithaca's 14th President

Thomas W. Burns, Initial Ithacans, Ithaca, NY: Press of the Ithaca Journal, 1904, 47.

"Park, in addition to heading State & Aurora Inc., is president of Hines-Park Foods, Inc., Agricultural Advertising & Research, and Roy H. Park, Inc.
The Cowdry property borders the building at 416 E. State St. now housing these three businesses. ...
History of the property dates back to the early 19th century, when family from Kinston, along the Hudson, settled in the area and built a log cabin on the property now occupied by the Cowdry house. The present building was constructed in 1851 by Jacob McCormick, and at the time was considered one of the finest in the village. McCormick was one of the presidents of the village."
