"Miss Janet Raleigh, daughter of Prof. George J. Raleigh and Mrs. Raleigh of 1010 Hanshaw Rd., became the bride of Stanley James O'Connor Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. James Stanley O'Connor of Washington, D.C., at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 1952, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
Miss Joan Carson of Washington, D.C., a Cornell classmate and sorority sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Mrs. Phyllis Boothroyd Terwilliger and Miss Ruth Hamilton, Ithaca, classmates. were bridesmaids. ... Martha and Jean Warren, twin daughters of Prof. Stanley W. Warren and Mrs. Warren, of Ithaca were flower girls. ... The bridegroom's father served as his best man. Ushers were William and Edward Raleigh, brothers of the bride, Cadwallader V. Noyes and Allan Bruckner, all of Ithaca.
Mrs. O'Connor was graduated from Ithaca High School, Class of 1947. Both the bride and bridegroom were graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences at Cornell in June 1951 where the bride was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. Mr. O'Connor also attended Balliol College at Oxford, England, where he studied political science and government and did graduate work at the University of Virginia in the Woodrow Wilson School of Foreign Affairs. He served with Army Intelligence."
