“Most Worshipful Grand Master David W. Parker, and Arthur A. Schomburg, grand secretary of the State of New York, made their official visit to H. H. Garnet Lodge Saturday evening. The degrees were exemplified, followed by a banquet. Sunday afternoon memorial services were held in Zion Church in honor of the late Napoleon Jackson, who held the position of junior warden. An address was delivered by Arthur A. Schomburg of Brooklyn. While in this city the grand officers were the guests of John E. Mason, 502 South Plain street.”

"The Civic Club of Ithaca which was organized and incorporated under the State laws a few months ago is now located in a handsome suite of four rooms on the third floor of the Stephens block at the corner of State and Aurora streets. This club was formed for social and political purposes and is composed of young colored men of this city. At present the roll of membership bears 43 names."
