Obituary for John C. Gifford, The Ithaca Journal, Nov 7 1951

"John C. Gifford, 84, of 421 N. Cayuga St. died at the Dodd Nursing Home on the Mecklenburg Rd. Tuesday evening, Nov. 6, 1951.
  He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Rome.
  He is survived by a cousin, Mrs. George Mabee of Ithaca.
  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Wagner Funeral Home, 421 N. Aurora St., with the Rev. H. G. Budd, minister of the First Methodist Church, officiating.
  Interment will be in Groton Rural Cemetery."
