 "James Stewart Hope passed away on December 25, 1998 at the age of ninety. He was a resident of Yorktown Hgts. for the past seven years. Previous to that he had live many years in Ithaca, NY. He was born in Pelham, NY on December 10. 1908. He attended Columbia and New York University. He had worked for the Public Service Commission and Westchester Lighting Co. He retired in 1968 from the Ithaca Gun Company in Ithaca, NY. where he had worked as a Director, Secretary. production and employee relations manager. He was a member of Masonic Fidelity Lodge #51. He was a trustee of the First Methodist Church in Ithaca, NY. He was a director of Tompkins County Red Cross from 1970 to 1972.
  He is survived by his wife Ruth (Ellis) Hope of Yorktown Hgts. one daughter Jaquelyn Ringer of Granite Springs, NY, son-in-law James Ringer of Granite Springs, a grandson James Mathew Ringer of Steamboat Springs, CO and a granddaughter Carolyn Hope Ringer of Gainesville, FL.
  A private service was held at Clark Funeral Home, Inc. and interment at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY."
