Eric Laubmeier was born on April 7, 1931 in Brooklyn, he was the son of Joseph and Theresia (Obermaier) Laubmeier. He was a 1949 graduate of the former Cobleskill Central School and spent a year at Cornell University's School of Agriculture for a year. He then studied agricultural business at SUNY Cobleskill.
Eric was a dairy farmer all his life, working the family farm.
He was also a school bus driver for Cobleskill Central School District and retired from SUNY Cobleskill where he was a herdsman.
