Obituary for Dr. Ralph E. Westervelt

"ELKHORN CITY, Ky. - Dr. Ralph E. Westervelt, 40, of Elkhorn City. Ky., died in University of Virginia Medical Center at Charlottesville, Va., on Saturday, Dec. 11, 1971, after a long illness.
  He was born in Ithaca, son of W. E. Westervelt of Ithaca and the late Georgianna Root Westervelt, and was graduated from Ithaca High School and, in 1954, from Cornell University. In 1958 he was graduated from McGill University Medical School, interning at Hartford, Conn. He then entered the U.S Air Force and was stationed in England for three years.
  He established his practice in Kentucky eight years ago.
  In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Annette Allen Westervelt; a son, Michael E. Westervelt, at home; two sisters, Mrs. June George of Amherst, Mass., and Miss Georgia Westervelt of Cambridge, Mass.; a brother, William E. Westervelt of East Granby, Conn., nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.
  Services were held Monday in Elkhorn. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery in Ithaca at the convenience of the family."
