Obituary for Ortha L. Strong
The Ithaca Journal, Apr 17 1973, P. 5, Col. 3.

"TRUMANSBURG - Ortha L. Strong, 70, of Rte. 96, and Winterhaven, Fla., who died Sunday, April 16, 1973, in Tompkins County Hospital was a former highway superintendent of the Town of Ulysses. He had been engaged in farming for many years, before his retirement.
  He also was a former Republican committeeman, a former member of Ulysses Grange, and a former member of the Trumansburg Lodge of Odd Fellows, the Encampment, and Ithaca Canton, IOOF.
  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Charlotte Strong; a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Neef, of Livermore, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. O.H. Tyler of Bradenton, Fla.; three grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
  Private funeral services will be held at the Ness Funeral Home, with the Rev. Martin D. Hardin of the First Presbyterian Church of Ulysses, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Garden, Livermore, Calif."
