Obituary for Albert William Force
The Ithaca Journal, Feb 24 1970, P. 3

"Albert William Force, of 2 The Byway, Forest Home, died in Tompkins County Hospital today, Feb. 24, 1970. He was widely known throughout the area for his interest in local history and antique collecting.
Mr. Force reproduced, completely by hand, a 1795 cookbook to be used in the Lippitt Homestead in Cooperstown, part of the State Historical Assn.'s prototype New York village and museum. He had contributed articles about history to various publications including the magazine 'Antiques' and 'American Heritage'.
He was considered the authority on the life of Henry Walton, an early local artist.
Born in Waterloo on Feb. 26, 1897, son of the late Edward B. and Clara Slocum Force, he was a veteran of the Army Medical Corps of World War I. He was graduated from Ithaca High School and, in 1921, received the B.S. degree in agriculture from Cornell University. For a year, he was a graduate student and assistant in Cornell's Department of Plant Pathology.
He was a member and past president of the DeWitt Historical Society and a member of Historic Ithaca and the Christian Science Church.
  There are no known survivors."
