Obituary for William “Bill” Samuel Neef, Jr.,  (Dec. 28, 1928 – Oct. 15, 2018)

 "The Neef family is united in grieving the loss of our loving and supportive father, grandfather, and great-grandfather Bill. 
  Bill was born in Dayton, Ohio. He held a master’s degree from Cornell University and cherished his time there where he met his wife, Gertrude Strong. In 1958 he moved his family from Indiana to Livermore when he took a position as Mechanical Engineer at LLNL, where he worked for 36 years. 
  While raising his family in Livermore, he was a member of First Presbyterian Church, a Boy Scout leader, a baseball coach, a Rotarian (including president), and a father to four exchange students. He liked to play bridge and golf and he enjoyed driving anything with wheels. More than anything, he loved people of all ages, nationalities and creeds. He will be remembered for his generosity and work toward social justice. His big booming voice was “The Voice of the Cowboys” as he announced the Livermore High School football home games for 20 years, as well as having acted as PA for the Rodeo Parade for many years."
