Obituary for Walter E. Westervelt

"EAST GRANBY, Conn. — Walter E. Westervelt, 80, of 58 Wynding Hills Road, East Granby, Conn., and formerly of Ithaca, died Friday, July 19, 1985. He was the widower of Georgiana Root Westervelt.
  Mr. Westervelt was born in Ithaca and had lived in the Forest Home section of Ithaca most of his life until moving to Connecticut two years ago. He had been employed by Cornell University until his retirement in 1968.
  He is survived by a son, William Westervelt of East Granby, Conn.; two daughters, Georgia Ann Westervelt of New Ipswich, N.H., and June Westervelt George of Amherst, Mass.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
  Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at East Lawn Cemetery in Ithaca, followed by a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. at Forest Home Chapel.
