"Elsie Thiel Johnson, 76, who had moved from Ithaca to Chapel Hill N.C. in 1975, died in North Carolina Memorial Hospital Friday, Aug. 24, 1979, after a brief illness.
  She is survived by her husband, Philip; a daughter, Mrs. John P. Evans of Chapel Hill, N. C.; a son, Thomas Johnson of Milford, N.H.; a sister and two brothers.
  A memorial service will be held in the United Church of Chapel Hill, N.C., 211 West Tameron Ave., at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28. In lieu of flowers, people who wish to make contributions may contribute to the Women's Society of the United Church or to a charity of their choice."
