Marriage of Jane Christie & Eugene C. Kenyon

"At 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 1947, in the First Congregational Church, Miss Jane Christie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph E. Christie of Forest Home, became the bride of Eugene Crouse Kenyon Jr., son of Mrs. Eugene Crouse Kenyon Sr. of Sacramento, Calif. The Rev. Edward Christie performed the ceremony. The church was decorated with yellow and white chrysanthemums, tall white candles with a background of ferns and palms. Traditional wedding music was played.
  Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory satin, styled with sweetheart neck-line, fitted bodice and full skirt ending in a wide circular train, Her fingertip veil of French illusion was held with a tiara of pearls and ervatamia and she carried a colonial bouquet of gardenias.
  Mrs. F. F. Doggett of Chester, Pa., was her matron of honor, Her gown was of bride's blue with short train. She wore a finger-tip veil of blue illusion fastened to a crown of white ervatamia and carried a colonial bouquet of yellow and white pompons.
  Mrs. Christie, the bride's mother, wore a street length gown of light blue with burgundy accessories and wore a corsage of pelagonium carnations. The bridegroom's mother wore a street length gown of cocoa brown with green accessories and a corsage of yellow rosebuds.
  Morton Loewenthal of Boston, Mass., was best man, and the ushers were Ensign Peter W. Johnson of Vermillion, S. D., and Lt. Comdr. Thomas Owen of Sacramento, Calif.
  After a reception at the home of the bride's parents,, which was decorated with chrysanthemums in shades of yellow and white, the couple left on a wedding trip. For traveling the bride wore hunter's green with beige accessories and a corsage of gardenias.
  Mrs. Kenyon attended Stephens College and Pennsylvania State College and has been employed as an air hostess for Transworld's Airlines, based in Boston. The bridegroom was graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy, is an ensign in the U.S. Navy and is presently attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
  Prenuptial events for the bride were a shower given by her airline associates in Boston; a miscellaneous shower given by Mrs. C. L. Dunbar and Mrs. J. C. McCurdy; a dinner at Taughannock Farms by her aunt, Mrs. Harold A. Pratt and a bridal luncheon, preceding the wedding at the home of Mrs. Harry Bush.
  Mr. and Mrs. Kenyon will live at 40 Kimball Rd., Watertown, Mass."
