Obituary for Margery N. Kellogg

 "Margery N. Kellogg. formerly of 501 Ellis Hollow Creek Road ([recently at] Ithacare/ Reconstruction Home) passed away at the Cayuga Medical Center on Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998. She was 88.
  Mrs. Kellogg was predeceased by her husband Roland S. Kellogg, who passed away in 1985. She is survived by her three children: Shirley Bruce, Orlando, Fla.; Ronald K. Kellogg, Queensland, Australia; and Sandra Sawyer, Sebring. Fla. Also four granddaughters: Valerie Snow, Carrollton, Va.; Kathy Bruce-Noble, New York City, NY; Crista Green and Cinda Austin, Queensland, Australia; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Janet Wood, Odessa, NY; a brother, Robert Noble, Tampa. Fla.: a brother-in-law, Mack Kellogg. Scipio Center, NY and many nieces and nephews.
  Mrs. Kellogg moved to Ithaca as a bride in 1928 from Seneca Falls, NY. She was a member of the Forest Home Chapel for 70 years; a member of the Forest Home Sewing Circle for 50 years; a volunteer "Grandmother" at local elementary school; delivered "meals on wheels", and was a volunteer at the "Kitchen Cupboard" etc.
  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to the Forest Home Chapel at 222 Forest Home Drive, Ithaca, New York, 14850.
  A memorial service will be held for her Saturday, October 31, 1998 at 2 P.M at the Forest Home Chapel."

Note: The Reconstruction Home was at 318 S Albany St.  Originally a home for children and adults in need of treatment for the impact of infantile paralysis, opening July 8, 1920 with four patients.  Later it opened its doors to elderly patients seeking a nursing home and rehabilitation services. In the 1990s, the Home became a pioneer in health care once again as it opened the only Alzheimer’s Unit and Adult Day Health Center and on-site rehabilitation in the area.
