"Ithaca-Sylvester Thomas Suzey died at his home 119 Wheat street, of general debility. The deceased was 73 years of age and was commonly known as 'vet.' He was a veteran of the Civiil War, having joined the Company B, Eighth Regiment, U.S. colored infantry on September 1, 1863. He has resided in this city for the past forty years."
