"The founder and one of the partners of W.T. Pritchard automobile center, Mr. Pritchard began his career with his father, James G. Pritchard, in the carriage business in Varna during the early 1900s. They later moved to Ithaca with the factory on Plain St and showroom on Green St. The Pritchards entered the automobile business around 1913 and sold the Flanders, a car then made by Studebaker. In 1914 they obtained a Buick dealership and in 1915 the Dodge franchise. In 1918 when the late Leon C. Pritchard returned from World War I, he entered the business with his father and William T.
In 1920, Mr. Pritchard built the present Dodge automobile center at 304 S Cayuga St. he was active in business until 1955."
