"The Ithaca YMCA was started in November 1868. Members met first in the old Cornell Public Library, then at the corner of Tioga and Seneca streets, and beginning in 1908 at 202 E Buffalo St. The Buffalo Street YMCA was destroyed by fire in May 1978. Construction of the new YMCA [in Lansing] began in November 1982."
