"M. Philip Brigandi, who has been engaged as master of the Fencers Club, arrived yesterday morning. Mr. Brigandi comes direct from the New York Athletic Club, where he has been engaged as fencing master for the past year. He comes to Cornell highly recommended and he teaches the French method.
M. Brigandi learned fencing at Alexandria, Egypt, and while there won a silver medal from several competitors. He has also fenced at one of the International tournaments in Naples, Italy, where he won the first prize, a gold medal. Since then he has been with different organizations in the capacity of fencing master, his last engagement having been with the New York Athletic Club...."
