“Mrs. Eleanor Irvin Hardy, daughter of Mrs. Vera L. Irvin of Cleveland Ave., has been appointed director of the Booker T. Washington Community Center in Auburn.

A graduate of Ithaca College in 1940, Mrs. Hardy was a teacher in a negro school near Petersburg, Va., for two years. She taught English and stimulated interest in community drama projects. While in the Drama Department at Ithaca College she was an out-standing student and worked with the Southside Community Center as recreation director.”
