"Bessie was born July 16, 1900 in Spencer, NY to Edmund and Julia Stevens VanWoret [VanWoert].
She taught school for many years in area country schools and with the Ithaca City School District. She was a graduate of Cortland Teachers College.
Bessie is survived by 2 daughter, Mrs. Mavis Lattin of Brooktondale and Doris 'Dottie' Johns of iIhaca."
