"Four-story, buff tapestry brick commercial building; street-level facade retains a deeply recessed store entrance flanked by c.1915 display windows capped by leaded glass transoms; secondary entrance to the upper stories; second and third stories each retain one large, fixed single-light window flanked by rectangular windows with historic one-over-one sash (Chicago-style); wood spandrel panels with decorative moldings between second and third stories; stamped metal comice between third story and fourth story; fourth story retains three rectangular windows with one-over-one sash; concrete coping at roofline. 
Built before 1888; facade rebuilt ca. 1915. 
Historical note: John L. Whiton established a bakery in 1835, and operated a bakery, grocery, and confectioner's shop on this site from at least the 1860s until the 1880s. Melvin W. Quick acquired Whiton’s bakery and confectionery and operated as Quick and Stewart from 1888 until about 1910. The facade was rebuilt about 1915, at the same time of construction as the auto garage next door at 107-119 West State Street; Schmaus clothing store opened in the 1910s and operated until the 1980s."
