"Mr. Ashdown was born in this city in a house on the present site of the Central Southern Railroad freight station at Fall Creek, formerly the old show grounds. He resided continuously in this city, the old Ashdown homestead being located in the house which stands at 1016 North Tioga street in the rear of the No. 7 engine house where Casper Linderbery now resides."
