"Mrs. Clara B. Brown, 69, died at 2:25 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 1939, at her home, 506 N. Meadow St.
Widow of John Brown, Mrs. Brown is survived by four sons, John and William Brown of Ithaca, Chester and Louis Brown of Boston; one daughter, Mrs. Ella Johnson of Ithaca; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Phillips of Ithaca, Mrs. Egbert Grant of Boston, and two brothers, Bert Washington of Ithaca, and Arthur Washington of Rochester. 
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Gilbert's Undertaking Priors, 125 E. Buffalo St., the Rev. Joseph P. Moselle , pastor of St. James AME Zion Church, officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Cemetery."
