"John A. Cummings, 72, of 420 Utica St., a retired painter, who recently had been employed at the Ithaca Gun Company, died February 24, 1953, in Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He was a member of Cataract Hose Company 7 and Painters and Decorators Union 178.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ellen Cummings; a son, John Cummings Jr., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Van Order Funeral Homes, 511 W. Seneca St., followed by a High Mass of Requiem in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at 9 a.m.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery."
