220-222 East State St Historic name: Naughton-Brown Building

"Four-story, six-bay, painted brick commercial building; street-level facade has two altered storefronts (1963), with display windows and recessed entrances; second and third-story windows recessed in and delineated by two-story-high round brick arches; second story retains rectangular windows with stone lintels and sills and some historic one-over-one sash; third-story retains arched windows, stone sills, with some historic one-over-one sash; fourth story retains rectangular windows, above continuous denticulated stone sill and some historic one-over- one sash; brick entablature consists of brick frieze with checkerboard embellishments, dentils, and stamped metal cornice. Built ca. 1860s, rebuilt ca. 1871; fourth story added ca. 1890; storefront alterations 1963. 
Historical note: Naughton Brothers Grocery occupied this site in the 1890s followed by a series of tailors and clothing stores."
