ELNORA LOUISE ISBELL (Robert, Eleazer, Robert, Eleazer, Elias, Elias Jr., Orland Watson, Elias Sidney), daughter of Elias Sidney and (3) wife, Ellen Jane (Phelps) Isbell, born Killingworth, Conn., April 9, 1868. Married there, by Rev. Nathan Tibbals of Brooklyn, N. Y., August 14, 1889, David Manning Stone Kelsey, born there, January 8, 1862, died Middletown, Conn., June 10, 1942, son of Charles D. and Olive A. (Stone) Kelsey.
Mr. Kelsey studied at The New England Conservatory of Music at Boston, Mass., and later was Supervisor of Music for ten years in the Public Schools of Saratoga Springs, N. Y. He was a writer, lecturer, Pastor of the Hadlyme, Conn., Congregational Church, 1925 to 1931, and a member of the South Congregational Church at Middletown. In 1925 he published Kelsey's Rural Guide.
He was a descendant of William Kelsey who came to Hartford, Conn., 1634, and whose name is on the Founders' Monument there, also a member and Chaplain of the Kelsey Family Association.
Mrs. Kelsey has in her possession a quitclaim deed of the old red Isbell Homestead at Killingworth, signed by Asahel and Lucretia (Isbell) Harvey and Dennis and Mary (Isbell) Gillum, to Orland Watson Isbell in 1830, also from Timothy and Irena (Newel) (Isbell) Benton, and Eliza Irena Isbell, 1833. Mr. and Mrs. Kelsey observed their Golden Wedding Anniversary August 14, 1939.
