"Gustave E. Mintz Dies at 53
  Gustave E. Mintz of 402 W. Seneca St. died at Memorial Hospital Friday night, Dec. 9, 1938, after an illness of three weeks. He was 53.
  Since the establishment of the Resettlement Administration offices in Ithaca, Mr. Mintz has served as a clerk in the land utilization division. He was a charter member of the 40 and 8 and was active in the American Legion.
  Ex-service men will take part in the funeral services at 2 p. m. Sunday at the Gilbert Funeral Home, 125 E. Buffalo St., where Rabbi Ephraim Fischoff will officiate. Legionnaires will act as bearers while members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars will provide a firing squad. Burial will be in City Cemetery.
  Mr. Mintz, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ben Mintz, is survived by four brothers, Lawrence and Aaron of Ithaca, Harry of Woodside, L. I., and H. H. Mintz of Washington, D. C., and a sister, Esther, also of Ithaca. Another brother, Lionel, former city editor of The Journal, died in January, 1933."
