Her father was the late Lafayette L. Treman, who for many years was president of the Tompkins County National Bank and was one of the founders of and until his death president of the Ithaca Water Works Company and the Ithaca Gas Light Company, which later became the first unit and foundation of the New York State Electric & Gas Corporation.

Miss Treman's mother was Eliza Ann Mack, daughter of Ebenezer Mack and Eleanor Day, members of two of Ithaca's oldest families. She was a cousin of the late Robert H. and Charles E. Treman and, on her mother's side, a cousin of Fitch H. Stephens.

She is survived by a niece, Mrs. Louisa Waterman Turner."
