"John Henry Hintermeister, aged 72 years, is dead at his late home in Commercial Avenue, Aspinwall. He was born in Switzerland and came to this country when 16 years old. He was for many years a teacher of music at Harvard University. He left that institution to engage in the manufacture of pianos and organs, establishing a factory at Oil City. He moved his plant to Aspinwall nine years ago. He gained considerable prominence as a composer of music.... Surviving him are his widow and five sons: Henry, an attorney of St. Pail, Minn.; Frederick, a piano manufacturer of Scranton, Pa.; Otto, Otis and William T. of Aspinwall."
