Once a part of the Warren farm, Crest Lane was subdivided by Mary Warren in 1948 when she decided to retire from farming. Mrs. Warren hired local builder William McElwee, Sr. to construct this house for her at the corner of Crest Lane and Warren Road, at the crest of the hill. The single story, gable-roofed house is oriented diagonally on the lot, to allow the living room to face southwest, overlooking Fall Creek and Forest Home Drive. The sloping lot allows rear, ground-level access to the full basement. Originally rectangular in shape, a front garage wing and a rear screened patio had been added by 1991.
