Description
This rectangular two-story dwelling with open gable roof and exposed rafter ends has a shingled second story and clapboard siding on the first story. Two hipped roof dormers are found on the north and south elevations. The front porch has been enclosed and incorporates the original porch posts. There are one-over-one double hung sash windows, with Queen Anne diamond pane upper sash in several windows.

The building is located on a corner site at the intersection of McIntyre Place and Forest Home Drive. Its southern side adjoins the Cornell Botanic Gardens, a series of gardens and wooded areas maintained by the University, while its western (main) facade, overlooks Beebe Lake.

During the 1960s, a carport was built and a rear kitchen exit installed. Since then, the kitchen has been modernized. In 1981, the front porch was enclosed and made part of the living room. While not technically an alteration, the main entrance to the building has shifted from the Forest Home Drive side to the rear entrance on McIntyre Place.

Included in Forest Home Historic District with USN 10906.000037. To access the Building-Structure Inventory form (sometimes referred to as the "Blue Form"), and from which some of the details above come, including the approximate year built, follow these Lookup Instructions.
