Description
This house was built by Fred C. Fowler before World War I from a Sears Roebuck design. It is an unusual bungalow, well built with interesting exterior features and very fine woodwork in the interior.  This house is situated at the corner of McIntyre Place and Judd Falls Road. The land drops off steeply at the rear of the property, towards the Cornell University Botanic Gardens headquarters and gardens.

This house was built from Sears and Roebuck design number 151, "The Avondale." It is a one-story bungalow, with a stucco exterior and projecting front entry porch. The design appeared in catalogs from 1911 through 1922.

Included in Forest Home Historic District with USN 10906-000033. To access the Building-Structure Inventory form (sometimes referred to as the "Blue Form"), and from which some of the details above come, follow these Lookup Instructions

Ithaca Daily Journal, 6 September 1911, p3, col 2 (near bottom)

"- Fred C. Fowler has sold his house and lot on North Aurora street, and will build a bungalow on his lot in Forest Home. He has rented rooms there for the winter."

Note: This suggests that the house was built in late 1911 or early 1912.
