Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Treman purchased the W. H. Lockerby house at 107 and 109 Linn St and gave the deed for that and the vacant lot next door to Cornell: "In conveying the property to the university we did so with the understanding that the two houses would be removed and thus the lower part of the Cascadilla ravine will be opened up to the view of the public when passing through University avenue."
