Head of this Household was Thomas F. Crane. He was a professor and founding faulty member of Cornell who retired in 1909. This house is shown on the 1899 Crandall Map, sheets 13 & 16, as Prof. T. L. Crane. 

This house is last listed in the 1923 city directory. Willard Straight Hall, the new student union (https://www.historyforge.net/buildings/7541), was built the following year on the property that formerly encompassed this house and one next door (9 and 11 Central Ave).
